Inclusive education means that all students are placed in age-appropriate general education classes in their own neighborhood to receive high-quality instruction and support in pursuing success in the core curriculum.
Students with disabilities are as fundamentally competent as students without disabilities and they, therefore, need to be included in the local school community. Successful inclusive education happens mostly through acceptance, understanding and attention to students with different abilities. This course covers the following topics:

Research basis for inclusive education
Principles, benefits and values of inclusive education
Inclusive classroom strategies
Legislation in Europe
Case study of inclusive practices in schools and classes
